Okay, I'm so kidding about that.  I hate nothing more than being told "when you're older..."  I think Ben is fine with his position, but I can't agree with it.  Maybe I'm being to Kantian about it.</description>

		<description>Oh, I also want to apologize for saying "you know" so much. i thought that in parts my arguments were weak, but in others not so much. When I said that the secular liberal values of the US work, I mean that they work invaraibly when we apply them. Not when we do not apply them which has perhaps been the case for most of our history. Whether or not that is the case, I think that it we are extremely fortunate to live in a country that at least aspires to live by such lofty ideals and can apeal to them to effect. I was trying to contrast that to Iran, where one must apeal only to a book supposedly dictated to an unlettered merchant by an angel in 650 BCE for political capital. That's a much worse state of affairs.</description>
